Annamaria Guiotto get her Master Degree in Bioengineering -University of Padua- (2008- Role of the biomechanics variables in the analysis of foot morphology for diabetic foot diagnosis) and a PhD (2013-Development of a gait analysis driven finite element model of the diabetic foot) at the PhD school on Information Engineering, section Bioengineering, at the same university. Her research activity regards mainly the clinical movement analysis of diabetic subjects and the biomechanical modeling of the foot. In 2009 she won the SIAMOC best thesis award. Before attending the PhD school, she had 2 years of experience in the gait and postural analysis research at the Laboratory of Movement Analysis, Dept. of Information Engineering, University of Padua. During the PhD she has been visiting student for 6 months at the Centre for Health, Sport Rehabilitation Sciences Research, University of Salford, Manchester (UK) under the supervision of prof. CJ Nester. She is research investigator in the Progetto di Ateneo “Development of a multi- physics diabetic foot model for plantar ulcers prevention in diabetic subjects” (2014-2016). She is member of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) and its Italian chapter, of the International Foot & Ankle Biomechanics Community (iFAB) and of the Italian Society of Gait Analysis in Clinic (SIAMOC), and she is in the Organizing Committee of the Conference of same society for the 2015 edition in Padova (SIAMOC 2015). She is first author and coauthor of several papers and abstracts published in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings concerning diabetic, post-stroke and ankylosing spondylitis subjects’ gait and posture abnormalities.
