Matilde Bertoli was born in Turin, Italy, in 1989. She received her Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2014. She spent one year as research assistant in the Motion Analysis Lab at Spaulding Rehab Hospital, Boston. During this experience she became familiar with optoelectronic video system, force platforms, surface EMG recording, and especially with wearable sensors (mostly Inertial Measurement Units). Afterwards, she earned her PhD at University of Rome “La Sapienza”, working in the AIMA Lab at the University of Sassari, Italy and spending some time in Portland at the Balance Disorders Lab at Oregon Health and Science University, USA. Her main focus was on gait analysis on both healthy and pathological subjects. In particular, her PhD core was about gait spatio-temporal parameters in straight walk and turns. She is now working for GPEM srl as life science support.
