May, 25th-27th 2023
Venues:
Asinara National Park Headquarter – Via Ponte Romano 81, Porto Torres (SS)
Palazzo Reale – Cala Reale, Island of Asinara
The BoHNES InterUniversity Centre, in collaboration with the “Parco Nazionale dell’Asinara” and the “Fondazione di Sardegna,” presents the 2023 IUC-BoHNES Colloquium. The theme selected for the Colloquium is:
Reduced Mobility Should Not Reduce Our Enjoyment of Nature
We all belong to nature, and we should all benefit from it
Historically, people dealing with reduced mobility due to disease or impairment affecting locomotion have been faced with limited access to nature. Modern societies address the issue by designing dedicated experiences and removing physical and societal obstacles from itineraries in natural environments.
The National Park of Asinara is also very sensitive to this issue and is launching initiatives to allow people with reduced mobility to visit and take advantage of the natural beauty of the Island of Asinara.
Science can contribute significantly to closing the gap between how non-disabled people and people with reduced mobility enjoy nature. The BoHNES Colloquium gathers young scientists with mobility expertise from an engineering and physical exercise standpoint. In this two-day event, they will have an opportunity to share problems and results of their scientific activity in a very inspiring natural context.
