Elena Pegolo got her bachelor’s degree (2017) in Biomedical Engineering and her master’s degree (2019) in Bioengineering at University of Padua. Her master thesis “Time analysis of sensory gating using P50 evoked potential in patients with schizophrenia” was developed during an Erasmus+ period at Reykjavik University.
Currently, she is a PhD student at the PhD School of Information Engineering, curriculum of Bioengineering, at the University of Padua (Corticomuscular control of walking in people with Parkinson’s disease).
Her research activity mainly regards the integration of neurophysiological (EEG and fMRI), EMG and gait analysis data in order to evaluate the recovery of altered sensorimotor functions in subjects with Parkinson’s disease (PD) after different rehabilitation treatments. Moreover, she is studying a face tracking algorithm to evaluate the effects of specific treatments for hypomimia in PD individuals.
