Francesca Buganè: Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering (2007); Postgraduate Degree in Biomedical Engineering – Curriculum in Biomechanics and Prosthesis at University of Bologna at Cesena (2010) with a thesis on Biomechanics of the Motor Function: “Study of kinematics of the box ankle prosthesis through three-dimensional videofluoroscopy”. 6 months (June 2010-December 2010) research fellowship at Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli (Bologna), concerning acquisition, processing and reporting of movement data of the knee and ankle joints, through stereophotogrammetry and fluoroscopy; 16 months (January 2011 – April 2012) as software developer at LorAn Engineering S.r.l. (Castel Maggiore, Bologna) and 5 months (May 2012 – September 2012) at LetSense S.r.l. (Bologna). One year as research fellow at University of Rome “Foro Italico” (Rome) involved in the SIVAM Project on “Wearable Sensors for Motor Ability Evaluation”. Currently Biomechanical Division Manager at LorAn Engineering S.r.l.. Her research studies are focused on the design and development of software for postural and movement analysis in orthopedics using inertial sensors (accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers) and on the development of algorithms for the functional assessment of human movement both in clinical and sports field.
