His research work has been focused on the numerical modelling of the human musculo-skeletal system in dynamic conditions. Through this process, he has endeavoured to acquire a thorough understanding of the head and spine behaviours and of their possible mechanisms of injury and pathomechanisms. He has been in particular aiming at (i) establishing relationships between global injury risk/global behaviour and local injury mechanisms/local behaviour, and (ii) linking the models to the real-life, e.g. by implementing subject-specific modelling approaches and accounting for in-vivo task-related active muscle contributions to the spinal loads.
